Midburn Dictionary

“When you release the material, the wind stays”

In 2019, The design team built a visual language for the Midburn community.

One of the unifying factors of any community is their language and words. The desire was to create a common language that is based on core values and strives for change and development. 

This language includes a nod to ancient tribal worlds.

This is how the first Burner dictionary of symbols was created and it invites participants to design even more words.

 

This year we went back to this visual language and took it even further - creating a symbol for the city of Midburn of 2021.

 

This symbol combines words from the graphic language and we’ll be returning home with it. 

The symbol recurrence creates something new, big and wonderful. Just like life itself.
